‘The Golden Girls’ returns as LA themed restaurant and bar – Deadline

Talking about your troubles will be easier with a slice of cheesecake in July.

Derek Berry, who brought the nostalgic pop-ups to global television Saved by the Max, Good Burger, and peach stone, will now create an immersive, officially licensed homage to the iconic TV classic The Golden Girls.

“The Golden Girls Kitchen” will officially debut in Los Angeles in July and will be a fully functional restaurant and bar. It will skew as a fast-casual restaurant with an emphasis on desserts.

Tickets for the experience will be available exclusively through Bucket Listers, which recently hired Berry as its newly created Director of Experiences. The on-sale date for tickets will be announced soon, and fans can follow on social media or join an email waitlist to be notified first.

“Bringing the Golden Girls to life has always been a dream of mine,” a statement from Berry said. “Our team is confident that die-hard fans of the series and newbies alike will walk away with a deeper appreciation for the series’ enduring legacy.”

The restaurant will be located in Beverly Hills. The purchase of each ticket will include a reserved seat and guaranteed time window for dinner, choice of main course and, most importantly, cheesecake. Menu items will include “Sophia’s Lasagna” (meat or vegan) and “Blanche’s Georgia Style Cookies,” as well as “Dorothy: A Miami Style Sandwich.” A full drinks menu is available including ‘Tea Arthur’ and ‘Rose on Rosé’. Additional items and local delivery will also be available for a la carte purchase.

The pop-up will be accompanied by a variety of iconic photo moments for fans to play out in the world of Dorothy, Rose, Blanche and Sofia. Cozy up at the kitchen table, soak up some sun on the veranda or take a selfie in front of everyone’s favorite palm print. Take a trip to Shady Pines by heading to the pop-up store, featuring an exclusive range of brand-new Golden Girls merchandise that can’t be found anywhere.

Fans can also expect a rotating assortment of special events, collaborations with local chefs, panels and additional merchandise throughout the duration of the pop-up broadcast.
