Michigan’s Best Local Foods: Fuzzy Fans Love the Restaurant’s Homemade Strawberry Shortcake

SAGINAW, MI – With warm, sunny weather forecast, it’s the perfect time to treat yourself to an ice cream sundae at Fuzzy’s Restaurant.

From homemade strawberry shortcake to caramel sundaes to hand-dipped ice cream, Fuzzy’s has something for just about everyone.

Strawberry shortcake is a best seller. Fuzzy’s owner, Elaine Zestos-Tambouridis, said the beloved dessert starts with a warm homemade cookie, then is topped with strawberries, whipped cream and vanilla ice cream.

Another big hit was Fuzzy’s “Orange Freeze” featuring orange sherbet and Sprite.

“It’s very refreshing on hot summer days,” she says.

Fuzzy’s also offers sundaes in a variety of flavors, including pineapple, strawberry, hot fudge and caramel, and hand-dipped ice cream. Kids are especially drawn to the ice cream shop’s more colorful and whimsical flavors like Superman, Blue Moon, Play-Doh, and cotton candy.

“Kids love it,” she says. “My favorite, because I’m an elder, is buttered pecans.”

Fuzzy’s, located at 1924 Court St., also offers breakfasts, sandwiches, burgers and more. To find Restaurant Fuzzy on Facebook or visit fuzzysicecreamanddiner.com for more information.
