38 Pittsburgh restaurants open on Mondays


After a long weekend of service, many restaurants close on Mondays for a well-deserved break.

But if you’re in desperate need of a restaurant-cooked meal on a Monday, you’re in luck — some of Pittsburgh’s best places are open for Monday dinner, with options that include everything from sandwiches to southern fried chicken at Coop De Ville pork belly Hung Lay at Pusadee’s Garden.

Here is a sample of what is open. And, since things are constantly changing with all restaurants right now, be sure to call ahead to make sure their hours of operation are up to date.

Savor island cuisine at Kaya in the Strip District every Monday from 4-9pm, with the restaurant’s last service at 8:45pm. Happy Hour at Kaya is 4-6 p.m., featuring half-price mojitos, grapefruit basil margaritas, and draft beer.

The Commoner, located in the Kimpton Hotel Monaco Pittsburgh, is open Mondays from 7:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. for breakfast (with French toast, prosciutto omelettes, and breakfast sandwiches), and for dinner from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. The restaurant is open for indoor dining; take-out and delivery orders can be placed in line.

After a long run as a take-out-only restaurant, Butterjoint is back with in-person dining on Monday evenings from 4:30 p.m. to 10 p.m., with the bar open until 11 p.m. Take-out meals are available on Mondays from 4:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. and orders can be placed online.

Pusadee Garden
Pusadee’s Garden is open on Mondays with a first service at 5:00 p.m. and a last service at 9:30 p.m. Reservations are available for indoor dining, and their (pretty) garden and terrace space is open when the weather is nice, with priority seating allocated to those with reservations.

City Coop
Not only can you grab a coffee at the Coop De Ville café-bar from 7 a.m. on Mondays, its main dining room is open on Mondays for lunch and dinner from 11:30 a.m. to 9 p.m., with a menu featuring Southern-style dishes such as apricot jam cookies, Nashville-style fried chicken sandwiches, and chili mac and cheese. The Coop De Ville arcade room, with duck bowling and pinball machines, is also open on Mondays from 11:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Bae Bae’s Kitchen
You can enjoy the Korean-inspired menu at Bae Bae’s Kitchen (including buildable bowls, Korean fried chicken, kimchi, and more) every Monday from 3-8 p.m. It is open for dinner and take out pick up.
